Fashion Find: Those Flashing Lights

The new 3D Stiletto Police high heels, which were designed by Tim Cooper, look absolutely amazing! The Police Woman Heels have been designed with high detail including the bright and colorful police car lights that can make any person’s heart drop. Moreover, there are also the side mirrors and front bumper that make it even more like the normal, police cars we try to avoid. Furthermore, there are the numbering on the side of the shoe, the “Police” sign that flashes strong, the dual mufflers, and even the back grills that add so much to the detail and coolness of this shoe design.

Nicki Minaj talks wigs

The Harajuku Barbie who’s been photographed wearing pink, green, blue and purple hair is dishing details on her signature mane.

As previously reported Lil Kim wasn’t too keen on Minaj emulating her extensive wig collection and threw off the faux hair at a concert stating that she was “above this.”

Nicki however has since continued with the colorful hair trend and in an interview with HypeHair she speaks on the multi-colored locks that are making her famous.

She offers advice to readers of HH and suggests that ladies buy human hair wigs. She also adds that her colorful mane, the green bob especially, maker her happy.

“Go for a human hair wig in jet black with a blunt cut China bag…I like the green bob. Everyone seems to like that. People are saying it’s the winner right now…I decided to choose a new look. Color makes me happy. It really excites me. I am a very visual person and when I look in the mirror, and I see green or I see pink, it does something to my attitude. It makes me feel positive.”

Do you girl!!!!

Products for Lil' Black Princesses

From the minute Disney announced the first African American princess movie, 'The Princess and the Frog,' the buzz has been building.
For super special 'The Princess and The Frog' merchandise, Disney's teamed with one of my favorite brands, Carol's Daughter for a truly magical beauty collection.

The Carol's Daughter products for The Princess and The Frog are beauty staples Princess Tiana would most likely use. "The Beauty Within" shampoo includes aloe leaf juice, "Inner Shine" conditioner uses sunflower seed, olive, and sweet almond oils. The "Dream Big" hair detangler includes glycerine, aloe, and castor oil.

The New New: Laced Nails

Lacie nails is a new, up and coming trend that is actually kind of cute. The lace is applied on the nail with a brush-on adhesive and then sealed with that same adhesive. According to Glamour magazine, the nails are then sprayed with a quick-dry glue, filed, then encased in gels and finally, cuticles are moisturized.

Barbie turns 50 and Stila celebrates!

This year Barbie turns 50 years young. And to celebrate, makeup brand Stila has created a limited edition Barbie line available this month, exclusively at Sephora.com, Sephora's Fifth Avenue store and international locations. The collection includes four different Barbies: Ponytail Doll, the very first Barbie; Malibu; Foxy, the first African American Barbie (pictured) and Jewel, named after the Barbie created in 2000. For each Barbie, Stila created makeup named after the doll they are packaged with. The makeup varies from lipsticks, lip glosses to bronzers, eyeshadows and mascaras. And while the dolls will bring you back to the time when you craved at least one, two or even three dolls, the Stila makeup found in these collections is strictly for the girl who has grown up into a woman Barbie would be proud. $40 per can.

The New New: Girls Get the Anime Look with Extra-Wide Contact Lenses

Anyone who's seen Japanese comics, cartoon videos or anime art is instantly struck by the common look of the girls - big eyes that, by making the rest of the face look small, add the cuteness and sex appeal prized by many Japanese men. Since no amount of cosmetic surgery will make actual human eyes larger, some girls are trying another way to up their cute quotient: extra-wide contact lenses!

These are no ordinary contacts - they're not only tinted, but tinted prominently in the extra-wide outer ring. The result is the appearance of a bigger, wider iris.To quote the sales copy, "Wanna get big, watery shiny eyes without any surgery? CRAVE AND ENVY NO MORE!"

The extra-wide contact lenses are made by a variety of companies and cost in the $30-$50 per pair range. It seems they're not just cosmetic - send in your prescription and the lenses will be made to order.

Obama offers campaign gear from top fashion designers

Forget buttons and bumper stickers.

Barack Obama's team is taking campaign merchandising to a whole new level - with the help of a few handpicked supporters from the New York fashion world. Some of the country's biggest style stars, including Isaac Mizrahi, Derek Lam, Tracy Reese, Diane von Furstenberg and Russell Simmons, clamored to create signature items. From T-shirts to tote bags, the items will be available on the campaign's Web site next month. Simmons, who will appear at the Democratic convention in Denver on Monday, crafted a tee that says, "America deserves better."

"The shirt that I designed was just simple," he says. "It's very clear - the meaning is obvious. Sen. Obama, in my opinion, represents better." The collaboration is an unprecedented political show of support from New York's high-profile fashion industry. Designers were given permission to use Obama's image and logo - and volunteered for the project.

Simmons sisters launch Girl Scout sneaker

Angela and Vanessa Simmons’ Pastry division of Run Athletics will launch a new line of products benefiting the Girls Scouts of the USA, the company announced July 16th.

The Pastry Thin Mint Collection, consisting of women’s and kids shoes and a backpack, hits specialty retail stores across the country today, including Finish Line, Underground Station and Lady Foot Locker. A take on Pastry’s “Fab Cookie” sneaker, the Thin Mint Shoe will be available in chocolate and white, and incorporates the Girl Scout philosophy, scripted on the shoe’s outsole. The women’s shoe will retail around $70 with the kid’s version available for $45 and the coordinating backpack going for around $65.

"Our relationship with the Girl Scouts is deeply meaningful to us," explained Vanessa Simmons. "To have the opportunity to further support their efforts of empowering young women with the creation of the Thin Mint Collection is very special."

A portion of all proceeds from sales of the Thin Mint Collection will go directly to the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., the premier leadership organization serving 3.6 million girls and adult members across the country.

The Thin Mint Collection continues the relationship established between the Simmons sisters and the Girls Scouts Organization in 2007. Vanessa and Angela joined the organization as spokespersons for the “Make Girls Scouts Your Business” initiative, which encourages girls to participate in the various Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy programs.

This is why we all need to remember...BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL! The newest rage in South Korea is turning their naturally straight hair into afros!!! Stylists are able to use a chemical process to add kinks to their straight hair. Now it's time we should embrace our culture a little bit more, don't you think?
